This listing is a compilation of data gathered by Travelers Marketing directly from the sources when possible and from a variety of previously published reports from Vanderbilt Center for Transportation Research, Texas Transportation Institute and Center for Urban Transportation at the University of South Florida.



Categories are defined as follows:

PopulationThe population of the state where the patrol is located.
AgencyThe agency that runs and oversees the program on a daily basis.
NameThe title given to the safety service patrol as it is recognized by motorists in each state.
Coverage AreaThe regions and/or cities covered by the safety service patrol.
Fleet Size The number of vehicles used by the safety service patrol.
Patrol SizeThe number of vehicles in use during one shift.
Highway SignsThe number of safety service patrol highway signs.
Centerline Miles CoveredThe number of miles listed as coverage areas for the safety service patrol. These miles are NOT equivalent to the number of miles patrolled.
Annual IncidentsThe total number of events to which the service patrol responds per year, including, but not limited to, motorist assists, debris removal, crash response, traffic control, etc.
