Session 35: Commercial Vehicles
On March 11th, the SafeHighways.org SSP Idea Sharing Network focused on Commercial Vehicle Incident Management and the evolving challenges facing Safety Service Patrols. As commercial vehicle traffic grows and incidents become more complex, patrols must be prepared to respond safely and efficiently.
This session highlighted best practices for managing oversize and overweight loads, establishing effective detour routes and traffic diversions, and responding to CV related events. Participants gained practical insights and peer-driven strategies to strengthen coordination, improve on-scene decision-making, and enhance roadway safety.
